Question about adapters

I've been a long time Canon user and I like the lenses I have.
I have recently bought a Sony a7rii for which I got a good deal.
I'm wanting opinions from others who actually use Ef lenses with an adapter for the Sony Fe mount.
Which adapter do you use and why do you prefer that one?

I use the Sigma MC-11. I bought it because I found someone local selling one for $75 and I had a couple of Canon lenses I wanted to try on my A7ii. It works well for photos. It does not autofocus for video.

I have both the Sigma adapter and the Metabones adapter. When using EF lenses, the Metabones has a slight edge in focus speed and accuracy. The difference isn't earth shattering. However, the Sigma adapter is considerably less expensive. If you plan to use any EF-S lenses on your Sony camera, you have no choice other than the Metabones adapter since the Sigma adapter will not allow the EF-S lenses to mount to the adapter. I should also state that I shoot stills only. I have no experience with shooting video.

I'm mainly interested in the photo than video since I seldom shoot video but I've always used manual focus for the times I have.
Eventually I want to get a few good video lenses for the camera since I know what it's capable of since a previous owner actually used it for video in both his studio and for the latest movie he did .
Granted it was a low budget flick but it was still decent video quality.

I have both the Sigma adapter and the Metabones ad... (show quote)

Thank you for your comparison and insight.
I don't use any efs lenses very often but you did provide useful information.

Your comment is a bit cryptic, at least to me.

Go over to YouTube and search for Lens Adapter Reviews. Dozens will pop up.

Actually the question is for the ones that actually use the adapters not for a random web search.

As I said in the question I was looking for uhh members who actually use the equipment regularly not the opinion of a YouTube reviewer.

Valid point. But some of those reviewers are highly credible professionals with extensive experience. I wouldn’t discount their hands-on experience.

Nor should one discount the fact that no adapted lens will function as well as native glass -- adequate, maybe, but not to the full extent of the a7rii's awesome potential.
