Thank you Ron for looking in on my new presentation and your kind comment, I very much appreciate your visiting this unusual and hopefully interesting tour - it is also good to see you again, haven't interacted with you for ages - have you been able to keep up with constructions projects during these last two difficult years? Joe

Hi Joe….it good to hear from you and glad to see you're still enjoying your world tour…I have been following you guys….and your wonderful images. (My bags are still waiting to join you....lol). Yes, I just posted in the UHH Photo Gallery my latest captures of Construction Photos…it's been difficult during the Covid 19 slow down…..(it sucks). Since world travel isn’t on my radar…I just try to capture what’s possible in my orbit…and hope you enjoy something different. Anyway, please continue to supply your beautiful images. Keep being creative and be safe.

This post continues and concludes the presentation of scenes and buildings inside the Shuzheng Tibetan Village. I repeat the introduction to the village provided in the previous post:

SHUZHENG TIBETAN VILLAGE - This is the largest and busiest of all nine villages here in Jiuzhaigou Valley, about 400 of the total 1000 inhabitants of the valley area live here. Tibetan style log houses line the main street and a few side streets, colorful prayer flags wave in the breeze. Since agriculture is no longer permitted inside the National Park, many of the local population operate small stores here and sell various Tibetan souvenirs as well as yak butter tea and snacks.

BUDDHIST SYMBOLS - Several of the building images in this as well as yesterday's set repeatedly display Buddhist symbols in wood carvings and metal ornaments. The following briefly explains the major Buddhist symbols and their meanings (excerpt from "The MYSTICA"):

The Eight Auspicious Symbols or Ashtamangala
These eight Buddhist symbols were offered by the gods to Buddha after he reached Enlightenment. They can be found on Buddhist temples and buildings as well as on clothing worn by Buddhist people. The symbols have been used for centuries and have been popular in Asia, especially in China, Japan, Korea and Vietnam. They were first introduced by the Indian monk Buddhaghosa who lived between 400-600 CE. The symbols were created with the intention of emphasizing Buddhism’s beliefs in rebirth and karma.

For each sign there is an image, a meaning and symbolism related:
Eternal knot: Harmony and love
Conch shell: Buddha thoughts
The parasol: Crown and protection
The lotus flower: Purity and enlightenment
Two golden fish: Happiness and freedom
Treasure vase: Treasure and wealth
Dharma Wheel: Knowledge
Victory banner: Victory in battle

More complete information on the Buddhist symbols including visuals can be found under this link: https://www.themystica.com/buddhist-symbols-and-meanings/

With this post we bid farewell to the Jiuzhaigou National Park with its extraordinary scenery and return to visit more places in the Min River Valley.
