Thank you very much Earnest, #8 seems to be the winner in the eyes of most viewers - thanks again.

The waters from the Pearl Shoal, after tumbling over the Pearl Shoal Waterfall, form the Rize Stream (sometimes also called the "Peacock River"), which joins near Zechawa Village with the Zechawa Stream and becomes the Shuzheng River.

In this set, we see first the waters tumbling amid vegetation down from the hillsides near the Pearl Shoal Waterfall to join the RIZE STREAM, in the second part we have a glance at the SHUZHENG RIVER just below the SHUZHENG WATERFALL, at an altitude of 2215 m (7270 ft) and see the waters below the fall assembling from the hillside into the Shuzheng River. Then we have a look at the SHUZHENG MILL as it stands in a picturesque setting partly in the water of the Shuzheng River, which used the power of the water to drive the millstones to produce flour, in the earlier days before agriculture had to cease due to the change of area into a National Park and UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992.

The final image portrays one of the northernmost lakes in the National Park: The SLEEPING DRAGON LAKE, captured from a viewpoint above the lake near the Shuzheng Zhai Tibetan Village. The Sleeping Dragon Lake contains a large travertine shelf that extends across the floor of the lake. Locals say it looks like a sleeping dragon and that the head and tail seem to move as the wind ripples the lake surface.

Great set, Joe! Looked at each one of them a number of times in DL, and I still can't pick a winner. Beautiful colors, interesting subjects, excellent detail and good composition make for a difficult choice. Each photo brings something different to the table. I have a slight preference for # 8 over # 9 in that the whole mill is visible in the first, but # 9 is more expansive.
OK, I've come to a decision - I'll go against the grain and choose # 6.

A Place for Zen and introspection. The last one looks like a riotous explosion on a painter's canvas. ( x 2)

Thank you John for your kind words - this is really getting interesting, while #8 at the moment gets the most accolades, the likings are actually quite wide-spread, with all numbers mentioned from #5 on - I am actually quite pleased that so many viewers are on a divergent path, instead of all homing in on one image - thanks for your participation and analysis!

Thanks Kip - waterfalls and flowing water are actually quite mesmerizing to me - a constant change and at the same time a constant more of the same thing - Susan feels very much the same way, could sit for hours by a waterfall or a fast flowing river or, as she did down in South Africa at Lands End on Victoria Bay Beach, watching these waves rolling in, breaking against the rocks, on and on and on. .... Yes, after the powerful but subdued settings of the first 9 frames, #10 really gives us once more a "in-your-face" of colors, as a farewell reminder of what Jiuzhaigou is all about.

Thank you Susan, glad to hear you like them falls - we are now moving off that beautiful mountain area and back into "civilization", but on the way out we will see one more quite nice fall, will post it in a couple of days.
