Thaz reeeeeeally easy. You like an SLR viewfinder. A modern EVF does exactly ... EXACTLY... the same thing, plus more when required.

Yea. I'm not interested in mirrorless either.
My bridge camera has an EVF, so?
Why should I jump on the mirrorless bandwagon? I can't see a reason.

The same is true of Panasonic Lumix cameras, at least with the electronic shutter. I choose instant review, or just continuous live view.

Correct for micro 4/3rds, but the first FULLFRAME mirrorless camera with no blackout was the Sony A9, released in April 2017.

Cheers

Repeated references such as “jumping on the bandwagon”, from various sources, are quite telling.

Big difference. If you can't see the difference you're blind my friend.

The one single down side of mirrorless is the EVF. Period.

For you ok. For me a mirror and a prism in a mountain stuck on the top plate of the camera, and clunk click every trip is not acceptable when there is a better alternative, i.e. EVF.

I would add that vibration from the mirror flap is gone. I also like the ability to carry one camera body for video and stills. My dslr's were never very good at video. I think when you get used to a particular way of shooting, it is hard to transition to another because it requires learning some new skills.

I've been shooting mirrorless since 1969. I also shoot mirrored cameras. However, I don't see the draw to mirrorless that seems to have gripped current photographers.

In many of the posts when the discussion is mirror vs mirrorless, I see the statement “mirrorless isn’t for everyone”. I’m am probably the antithesis of a professional photographer so I don’t really understand the statement. I see folks on here talking about shooting wildlife, sports, portraits, landscape etc with mirrorless. What are the downsides of mirrorless other than those who have invested in Mirrored systems don’t want to change…which is understandable. I’m not trying to open a can of here…just curious as to what some of you fine folks think. Thanks!

Camera companies made the decision for you...
It looks like your next SLR will come from flea market...

Got a Z9 and the the new Nikon 70-200 this week. Have not taken them out of the boxes yet. Hope to do so in the next few days. Moving up from D5 and D4s. Interesting time.

Baloney! Photographers know what they like and what they don't like.

I don't say nothing about whether it's for you. I do believe mirrorless is for a lot of people. Just it's not for me and say it's for everyone is simply not correct.

I find interest in the amount of vitriol that entered this conversation.

I did not say that you mentioned any one other than yourself. By the same token I have only mentioned myself.

I don't understand mirrorless either; I took the mirror out of my Nikon D7200 and now it doesn't work.
