Outstanding! Boy that is an expensive camera body. It's almost as expensive as the 1D series of camera when they first hit the market. I wonder if they plan on a R1 body that costs even more than this one....
Nice pose; nice photo. Happy that you like the new camera.

Nice job. Hopefully we'll see more.

looks like it could be the inevitable photog slobber!
I, too, have occasionally been bitten by the better equipment bug. Throw money at it, it’s bound to make me a better photographer. Ha, doesn’t really work that way. I have a canon 5D and a 5DS r and I’m still the same hack I was with my 20D. And I gave that one away. Money comes and goes. I wish I knew how much I’ve spent over the years just on equipment. And motorcycles. And bourbon. Fock, it’s got to be a medium sized fortune.
I wonder if you could have made such a nice photo with an instamatic?

Thanks for your reply John. For this particular photo, I could probably have made it with any camera I own, and most lenses, including my "pocket camera", a Canon G7X II. That is also a 20'ish MP camera and I have several metal prints up to 30X40 hanging in the house I've taken with it.
I bought the R3 because I'm shooting a good bit of sports, including indoor fast action sports and outdoor low light games (high school football etc). For those things unfortunately a fast burst rate, excellent autofocus and great low light capabilities are almost required (as are long, fast ($$$) lenses). Since I now have the R3 I'm trying to use it as much as possible to get accustomed to it, and I really like the color/look of its files.
I guess in summary I could come much closer to taking the pic I posted with an instamatic than I can shooting sports with an instamatic :)
Ya, nice camera. I’d love one but I’m probably stuck with my 5DS r for a while. It’s a great camera, but I’d love a mirrorless body. When they are a lot less than $6000.00 I’ll try to sneak one by my wife.

The R6 is a phenomenal camera. My 5D MkIV feels like an antique compared to it.
Fabulous photo, very creative exposure and focus.
Nice photo, I have seen billboards from 5 feet, they look like the Sunday funnies under a 10 power lope. Just dots. I see "peach fuzz" on the "in focus" area. You did good !!!!!

Wow - really? Don't see it.

Hi all! I recently got a new camera (Canon R3) and lens (Canon RF 50mm f/1.2). I've had it a few weeks but haven't had many opportunities to try them out together, so this morning I finally did. Unfortunately since I shoot some indoor sports I mistakenly left it set to record only JPG, no RAW files, but the color and "feel" of this camera is head and shoulders above the R6 in my opinion. Anyway, I thought I should post something here for you to check out, it's very nearly straight out of camera.
By the way, I highly recommend viewing the download. People have complained because this camera is "only" 24.1 megapixels, but I'm not anticipating printing at billboard sizes (and viewing from a few feet), and as you can see it's plenty of resolution for viewing on a computer screen!

I like it. Don't see anything wrong with it as far as image quality goes. Bokeh is really nice and soft. I own an R and R5 and absolutely love them. Looking forward to more from your R3.
