The cheeky shot is set to feature in an exhibition on lawn tennis in art and Fiona Walker, now 52, has at last revealed herself to be the 18-year-old who has gained worldwide, although anonymous, fame.
But Fiona, who went on to become a mother of three and illustrator, admits she struck a bum deal on the Athena poster photo.
She said yesterday: "I was very naive and was paid nothing, and I think it's the biggest-selling poster ever."
Fiona - then Fiona Butler - was 18 when the photo was taken in 1976, by boyfriend Martin Elliott, who persuaded her to model for the first and last time in her life.
She was not even a keen tennis player and borrowed the tennis dress from a "friend of a friend", her father's plimsolls, and used "the dog's" tennis balls.
