Hi all! I recently got a new camera (Canon R3) and lens (Canon RF 50mm f/1.2). I've had it a few weeks but haven't had many opportunities to try them out together, so this morning I finally did. Unfortunately since I shoot some indoor sports I mistakenly left it set to record only JPG, no RAW files, but the color and "feel" of this camera is head and shoulders above the R6 in my opinion. Anyway, I thought I should post something here for you to check out, it's very nearly straight out of camera.
By the way, I highly recommend viewing the download. People have complained because this camera is "only" 24.1 megapixels, but I'm not anticipating printing at billboard sizes (and viewing from a few feet), and as you can see it's plenty of resolution for viewing on a computer screen!
Looks like color splotches on her right rib cage and elsewhere.

Hmmm, Iām not seeing that.

No, just posted a pic. Why would you think I was asking a question?

Nice image. I assume she knows you took the photo (despite the blindfold
).

Why the blind fold?
I got the camera when I saw the light on the bed, she grabbed the blindfold...voila!
This shot is a candid photo, not posed, one that we often have seen in everyday life. My dearest lady love would sleep in longer than me, I would get my cup of coffee, sit in the bedroom chair and just sip and stare at the beauty and feel lucky in love.
The mark of a good photo its impact on the viewer, not the mp, the even lighting and other critiques... remember that many famous photographers had "crappy equipment" but photos with impact; for instance, street photographers.

TECHNICAL STUFF
Print this lady on a local billboard with a message saying Happy Birthday, I am sure she would appreciate it. [NOT]
Thurber, your camera is fine, I recall my Kodak 2800 a high-end camera, at 3 mpx saw blond peach fuzz on one lady's cheek, she did not appreciate it at all!!! You said "People have complained because this camera is "only" 24.1 megapixels, but I'm not anticipating printing at billboard sizes (and viewing from a few feet), and as you can see it's plenty of resolution for viewing on a computer screen!" You sir are wrong!!! 16 mpx is fine for a BillBoard. Read:

Remember megapixels are created by cutting the surface of a sensor, the smaller the more problems occur. "Some experts say no. Image quality isn't improving, they say, and some fear it may actually be degrading as the megapixel race escalates. "

Also, sophisticated software can increase the resolution ... a last-year copy of expensive PhotoZoom 7 can be purchased from Ashampoo for $20. Photozoom 8 by Benvista is $170

Great image, but are you not showing off your shallow depth of field with your new lens? With such luscious skin, I would have loved to see more of it in focus.
