What are some good websites and apps to research locations for landscape photography? I guess I'd want to know sun position, best time of day to visit, where to position oneself, etc. I found this, which mentions two apps: Really Good Photo Spots and The Photographer's Ephemeris. I've heard of the latter, but never used it.

Another good one is locationscouts.net
Good luck!
The best I use is The Photographer's Ephemeris. This site has helped in determining the lighting I would want to use and what time that will happen.
As for "photo spots", find your own. Otherwise, you'll be taking the same photographs everyone else takes.

A year ago I purchased PhotoPills for my smartphone for $9.99 and once I became familiar with how to use it, I ditched TPE and use this for all my planned photo outings. There's a learning curve involved because it's pretty intensive, but once you learn its basics, you're hooked.

Globe-Trekker...
I also have the paid version of 'PhotoPill' But, in addition, I have an app know as 'PlanIt Pro'
See the below:
https://www.yingwentech.com/I will say that I do own both... And, in my 'humble opinion' - PlanIt Pro is superior to TPE and definitely better than PhotoPills (IMHO). I do a lot of landscape shots with moons and sun setting in them and I find that I rely on Planit Pro much more often.
It is my belief that there is far more information in Planit Pro and laid out/organized in a better fashion. BUT, with more information... there is more of a learning curve... well worth it however.
Also, I am sure you can find some Youtube videos on the subject, should you wish to investigate
Cheers, and keep 'clicking'

Thanks for the suggestions, folks. I will check out these other options. I have registered to use the web version of TPE and like it so far.
