From the "godan1 Collection".

All you Chevy folks need to help me out here. The first two photos are of what I think is a Chevy convertible. I am stumped as to the year. The front fenders and grill surround seem to be all one piece. The grill surround looks like it's from 1952. The grill "teeth" themselves are from a 1953 Chevy, which only had three of them. Some of the Chevies from those years had the crease on the side of the fenders, this one has the crease on the top (similar to the 1957 Chevy). No other GM cars had the crease on the top like this (Pontiac, Buick, Olds, Caddie, etc. as far as I can tell). That crease is a lot of customizing work, especially when you include the headlight surround.

Thank you for the parade of old U.S. cars that have been restored and modified. Customizers in effect re-design the factory version of some of these cars. I've seen them locally at car shows described as "hot-rodded."

My eyes prefer the restoration of old cars to their original automotive design. I watch "Jay Leno's Garage" (on YouTube) for this reason among others.

from the slope downward of the rear fenders, I'm saying it's a '49 or '50. The '51-'52 rear fenders were more squared off then the earlier ones. I was hoping the single piece windshield would be a clue, I believe that was first seen in the '53 model year, and I don't think it's a '53 based on the body cues. I believe that the single piece windshield seen above was also changed in the customization work.

Brings back memories, I learned to drive in a '54 Chevy two door. Ours was white on top and a dark green below. Built like a tank and almost as heavy.

Nice shots of a lot of "Detroit heavy iron".

That '54 Buick started the "Way Back" machine. My first car was a '54 Buick Century with a '55 Roadmaster V8.
My Dad got it about 1956 or '57 from his boss who blew the original engine and put in the '55 engine then decided he wanted the top of the line Roadmaster with all the goodies, not just the engine. Then in late '62 Dad got a new car and I was a Senior in HS and would be starting college and would need a car. So Dad was going to give it to me and my Mom and Stepfather were paying to have it gone over and completely fixed up for me to go off to college.

The county clerk told Dad to sell it to me for $1 instead of giving it to me. If it was a gift I had to pay taxes and fees on its value. If I bought it from Dad I paid taxes and fees on the sale price. Small population farming county with a few small towns in Western Kentucky and the county clerk had a grandchild in my class at the county high school so she told us how to save me a bunch of money. People in small town and rural America did things like that for people back then and I will bet they still do it in lots of places today.

Cars as old as me (all a little bit older actually as I was born 31/12/54). Enjoyed this series, particularly the quality of the restorations, even if not the designs - but there is a flamboyance there not shown in Euro cars.

Custom Chevy. Where you able to ask the owner? Could the owner be contacted?

BTW: Awesome Car Collections!
