I shot this photo as an experiment, with my new Sony a7C camera .
I only have the kit lense now, F4-5.6 28-60
It was very cold, no traffic as it started snowing and the wind was picking up.
I used Aperture mode,, F8 1/40 60mm ISO8000
No tripod..ended up with few pics... despite having a glove designed for photography...it was hard to operate the different settings on the Sony..
Please critique it... what could I have done better or differently?
Thank you!!

It looks well taken to me.

I can't critique it. The blowing snow is something we all see but have never captured quite in that way. Well done!

I would not change a thing. Your picture is a great capture and tells the story.

Excellent composition and exposure. 1/40 was perfect to convey the snow blowing in the wind. Really captures the mood. Makes me shiver just looking at it. Well done!

I like it. A Mode, all the other setting picked by the camera? Just curious.

I think that’s a fantastic photo. It’s well composed and exposed, especially considering the conditions under which you shot it. It is very artistic and I love the moodiness about it. Thanks for sharing the snowstorm.

Under those conditions I think it is a great capture, Frank.

Don’t know if you’re were using back button focus or not. I was recently in Washington photographing bald eagles and realized that I kept hitting buttons and dials with my thumb while wearing photo gloves. I have decided to stop using BBF for extreme cold conditions and use shutter focus and keep hand warmers in my gloves. That way I only have my shutter finger exposed to the cold and not thumb and forefinger. It will also eliminate hitting the buttons and dials next to the BBF button.
