I was traveling through RI last week when I saw a small Cemetery (20 ft x 30 ft) at the edge of a field. It looked very old, so I had to go take a look. It appears to be the Cemetery of the Barber family late 1700's / turn of the 1800's. Most of the headstones were small, broken and very difficult to read. Time has left very few letters to read on most of the stones. I found the marker for Mrs. Thankful Barber. Sounds like she was a special person.
I tried to research the cemetery but couldn't find any record of this on the RI Historical Cemetery website. There is a #5 site listed in another location

Beautifully picturesque but also bittersweet
I love those old cemeteries. My ancestors had a private one up the hill from their house. And the neighbor down the road has one in the middle of a field.

Thanks for viewing and getting back to me with her history. It's amazing that your family tree is tied to these photos. I don't often visit cemeteries unless they look old enough to go back to the beginning of our time in the new world. I always try to imagine what their lives entailed. Thanks again......BadDog
