In sunny Sarasota, Florida, the Ringling Museum is a must see. The ground house an art museum featuring hundreds of works by many of the great masters. The grounds are beautiful and there are marble statues sprinkled amongst the tropical plants. The Ringling museum, Ca'd'Zan is open for tours and there is a magnificent view of Sarasota Bay. But a major attraction is the Circus Museum. There are two buildings and my favorite houses the miniature circus. This circus is labeled Howard Brothers because John Ringling would not agree to have it called Ringling Brothers.

These are just a few shots of the entry walkway with the circus train behind glass.

I have been thru there a few times. The house is what really dazzled me with the history of it.

Great work Carol. The lighting had to be difficult.

We visited this museum about seven years ago. It is remarkably well done and educational. The one fact that stands out in my memory is the feeding of 1200 employees and performers 3 times a day...not to mention the different diets for all of the animals. Wow!!! Talk about organization. What a logistical nightmare.

I agree, Scooter. The residence is wonderful and in such a beautiful setting. It has recently been refreshed. The story of John and Mable is extremely interesting. He left a great legacy.

Thank you, Don. Part of the time it is fairly well lit but then they go into a nighttime mode which is really cool to see but more difficult to photograph. A lot of these were nighttime shots.

As you enter there is a lot of documentation of detail to read. It is mind boggling and they didn't have computers or the internet to keep things going!
