Yes Trump promotes himself, but your party more than any other organization helps him... The Republican Party for the most part avoids Trump except when your party forces him to the forefront. Trump has enough following that he could once again win the republican nomination and your party is helping him retain that strength of following. I am pretty certain that in a 2024 Trump v Biden election that Trump would easily win, you people should give that some thought.

The attack on the Capitol on January 6th would not have happened except for Trump. Trump asked and expected Pence to dismiss his Constitutional duties, and refuse to certify the newly-elected President on January 6th.
