Mr. Heron and Cypress Trees
My first post - I have been enjoying everyone's photos for quite some time. I am just starting to practice with manual setting on my Canon 80D and working on better focus. Used a tripod for the first time on these taken at a +/- 5 acre lake adjacent to a public park in far North Dallas. Realized I had single focus point in middle of field when Mr. Heron was on the left third of image - moved the focus point to the left in some of the later images. Apparently this is one of Mr. Heron's favorite fishing holes - seen him here before. Help: How do I upload multiple images to Ugly Hedgehog?
Oops - no image. Back to the drawing board!
Well done.
Try getting the reflections of the Cypress trees, I tried in SC. They look awesome.
Also, if possible try Motion Blur technique or Intentional Camera Movement (ICM) on a bright sunny day (which is always available in Dallas, my mistake). Try moving your camera horizontally once, veritically and then in a curve.
Move from left to right and then right to left, you will find how different the images will bel.
Also, keep in mind, your movement can begin few nanseconds before you release the shutter and must complete after the shutter is closed.
Good Luck.
