Cheers Trevor and thanks for looking it's appreciated.I used my Sony A550 coupled with a Sigma 150-500mm lens.
F/stop-f/5
exposure-1/1000
iso-200
metering mode-centre weighted
auto focus -spot
white balance -daylight.
The hard part is to get the panning right and to follow the bird in the centre of your viewfinder and fire away, you wont get every shot spot on and this only comes with practice, practice, practice and even then you wont hit the sweet spot on every occasion so dont get disheartened.I prefer to try take these pics on a sunny day and try to keep the iso as low as possible to keep the graininess down and also all my shots are hand held.Hope this helps you Trevor. This is the way i lke to do it and i'm sure other members have their own way of doing things so listen to what everyone says and make your own mind up.Good luck.
