I was worried this past December that since I hadn't seen our Painted Buntings back this year for their winter hangover, they may have gone somewhere else. Well, the other day, two finally showed up and looks like they'll be here for the winter. In fact, I was watching aerial jousting between two male Buntings this morning, Angry Birds..
I prefer not taking photos of birds actually on a feeder, would prefer them natural on a limb or such but I decided to shoot this one at the feeder since he was chowing down with a Cardinal and since they've finally arrived. The ladies will be here shortly I'm sure....best in DDL and Cheers all...
Nice image. I wish the buntings would stop over at my place.

Thanks Ken and good luck, LA is actually in their winter range. I had not seen them here in my yard years before, and then they started showing up the last two years at the feeder. I had however seen them infrequently at wildlife areas here in Florida during the wintertime though. Cheers
