Thanks to the two of you above, but that still presents the info as text that must be retyped. Copying and entering that into the "To" space won't work.
I don’t know why that wouldn’t work - I’ve done so numerous times. You always have to include a comma, or delimiter your mail system uses, between each email addy in the TO space. Works for me on my AOL account and gmail. Yeah, I’m one of “those people” who still use AOL.

What kind of file do you have these in?
I can copy them into a word processor, but then I have to go back and delete everything but the actual email. I got the email addresses sent, so that's all for now.

There's no easy way to send ready-to-use email addresses. I have a list of 65 names for a group I want to give to someone else. If I export them, they wind up in a spreadsheet, and the other person must type them manually. I can send them as a PDF, but that still requires typing each one. What I'm going to do is send an email to the whole group and let all the names and addresses show. Then the other person can simply use Ctrl-C to copy them.
If anyone knows of a better way, I'd be glad to hear it.

In my Photography Club, member information is kept on our website. To always have the most current list of members when I want to send all of them an email, I export member information to an Excel spreadsheet. In the spreadsheet email addresses are listed in a column. I then copy and paste the email names into the Bcc: field of my gmail email (which can send up to 125 emails).
Now, at this point the email addresses are not separated by semi-colons, so they’re unusable as email addresses. HOWEVER, as soon as I start typing something in the Subject field of my gmail email, the semi-colon separators appear, making them into valid addresses.
Works for me every time.

You can copy them into a Word doc (or Pages, etc.) and send the doc. Then addresses can be copied.
Also, as long as the pdf isn't from a pic (such as a screen shot) is should be copyable - it is using Preview.
That is what I have done.

Thanks. That's worth a try.

I group-email from a spreadsheet. Just copy the address column from your spreadsheet; then paste what you copied into either the TO field or BCC field of your email. I do this all the time for a group I belong to using their contact info spreadsheet in Google docs, but I'm pretty sure it would work the same way from an Excel spreadsheet. Easy and convenient, no re-typing required.

Jerry,
Do it the easy way - old dog, new trick.Virtually ALL email clients / programs use the cvs export / import process previously mentioned by another UUHer.. Reference:
https://support.google.com/contacts/answer/7199294?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktopFor those on the receiving end, they just import the cvs file. Done.
Make sure the contacts (address list) is clean and only has the fields of impotance.
You can also copy-and-paste from a cvs file into a spread sheet.
SECURITY: Do not send to a big list using the To: line. Make it bcc:

I have a mailing list of over 175 individuals. E-mail addresses are in a single column of a spreadsheet. The Entire column can be Copied and pasted into the TO: , CC: or BCC: line on the e-mail that is being composed. An E-mail to 175 folks can be easily sent.
A spread sheet with the Email addresses in a single column ( other columns can have other important info) is an excellent way to send a list to another. I do this on a regular basis.
A real piece of cake.

I have hit invisible wall when setting up a gmail group and attempting to send to a large number of members. SPAM control. It appears the magic number is around 125 but I never could find an official note about this.

The maximum emails you can send in gmail at one time is 125. You are correct.

My largest group is just under 100, so I'm okay.
send an email to ALL of 'em. they can cut & paste from that.. do it all the time...all they have to do is hit "details" and all the addressee appear
