Thought some would be interested in these vintage planes. They were taken at Osan AFB, S. Korea, October 1969.
I scanned the Ektachrome slides on an Epson V550. What I remember for certain was the camera, a Topcon D. The lens was a Tamron 70-220 f4. They were shot at 1/1000 shutter speed (fastest the camera would go) but not certain about the f stop. A bright sunny day, so I'm sure it was at least f8, maybe narrower. Don't remember the focal length I was at either. The slides survived all theses years in an old kodak carousel. I was just getting into photography at the time and these were a couple I always treasured.
The first is an F4 Phantom, the silver one I think (some of you plane experts will probably know) is an F-115.
Hope you like them.

You're very welcome, I love the jets of that era and any aircraft used in Vietnam.

I remember the F-4s well. My first round of active duty was Air Force (later switched to Army). Last station was George AFB, CA. Our squadron was as training squadron, we trained German pilots in the F-4. This would have been 74-76. Good pictures.

Don't know about the Air Force version, but having been on a destroyer following carriers around, and having lived around NAS Miramar and NAS Cubi Point during that era, the unique howl from the engines of Navy version of the F-4 was instantly recognizable!

Those must have been good times I'm sure. Back in 74 I was army in Germany and went to Ramstein air base and was on the tarmac and flight line walking to board a C-130 to Crete, Greece (on TDY) and saw their F-4's lined up looking beautiful, I think they were C models. Brings back memories...

I was a weapons mechanic on F 4s in Vietnam. I won't bore you with the shameful weapons used.

We had Phantom's at Korat Royal AFB when I was there in 1969. Awesome aircraft. I'd hate to be on the receiving end of one!

I think the second aircraft is either an F-102 or F106. Wikipedia says the F106 was developed from the F-102.

I loaded munitions on F4 D models. This looks like one. The E model had an internal nose gun.

Very good set, the F4 Phantom is my favorite jet fighter of all time.
