....ok, ok.... these were shot digitally, not on film, so for accuracy's sake, I suppose the title should be 'The Other Shots From The Card(s)', right? And it IS 2022 after all; it's just that 'being accurate' doesn't always have quite the same 'ring'..... But in any event, the title I've gone with is a better title than the one that first came to mind while I was processing these: 'Bloopers & Outtakes.' But I digress.........

Don't know exactly why, but for some odd reason it felt somehow gratifying/satisfying/enervating (or whatever) to see a handful of other seeming "serious" photogs out and about, in and around the places I, too, had gone. What (you might ask) makes me believe any of those others were "serious"? Good question, and one not easily answered. It wasn't simply that those others had serious looking cameras with serious looking long or large looking lenses attached, or that those apparatuses were attached to serious looking tripods. And it wasn't simply that whenever I'd noticed one shooting, they were shooting from everything other than their normal standing height. And it certainly wasn't simply that those others had wound their way away --to serious distances in some instances-- from where they'd parked, over uneven land, through snow and the cactuses well hidden-- to get their shots. And it wasn't simply a result of a brief conversation that chance provided me with --a Canon shooter from Colorado as it turned out-- who began by saying, "pretty decent light, y'think?"

Which leads me to ask: might any of YOU have been out there? out where I and the others I didn't chat with were, on New Year's Day? If any of those others might have been you, I'm sorry we didn't get a chance to talk a moment or two.

Simply stunning, Jim. I like them all but find the middle photo very compelling. Thanks for posting these.
