In 1971 that was the camera I could only dream about owning. My first Nikon was a Nikkormat EL. Since then, I have gradually traded up through F3, F4, F5, F6, D2x, D3, D4 and am now shooting with a D5 (my favorite toy.) If I were a younger man, I would probably transition to the mirrorless system but with 7 Nikon lenses and my dislike for adapters I just can't justify it.

As with fine wine, aging well (both of you).
Mery Christmas to you Bob. Got my FTN about 1975 and still have it.

Fills me with wonder at what sights and adventures you two have shared!!
Wonderful camera and it must have great memories.... Would be fascinating to know on the Nikon F's 50th anniversary where it has traveled and what it has shot over the past 50 years!
Congratulations! Are you planning on renewing your vows?
A third group thanks. I appreciate your sharing this momentous occasion with me. As for adventures, yup, we've had quite a few. Some of which I'm not a liberty to divulge. A couple of trips to Europe, bailed out of a plane at 10K feet, and numerous local adventures that I'm glad we both survived.
As for renewing our vows...definitely. It's sitting right next to me as I'm typing this. We're looking forward to another year of adventures, travels, and possible wonderous sights.

Inseparable! "She's a keeper."
Memories are made of this. Happy New Year!

Had one, used it as both as an amateur and later as a professional, a true classic and workhorse of photojournalists.
Cheers
