Trump National Doral.

Trump National Doral is a golf resort located in the city of Doral here in Miami. It was founded in 1962. The resort consists of 800 acres with 72 holes of golf. It has four golf courses, 700 hotel rooms, and a large spa with 36 treatment rooms, plenty of space for private meetings, a huge ballroom, several restaurants and a private members clubhouse.
The initial cost of the property was $10 million and it opened in January 1962. Over the years and beginning in 1994 the property changed owners. In February 2012 the property was bought by the Trump Organization for $150 million at a time when the property was in bankruptcy and the name changed to Trump National. The sale included 4 of the 5 golf courses. A complete renovation of the property cost $250 million.
In May, 2019 Trump Doral was in serious financial decline. Although originally the property had an annual income of slightly over $13 million by 2019 the profits have fallen to $4.3 million. The golf course that did not belong to the Trump Organization was sold in in 2016 for $16 million. The Pritikin Longevity Center moved to Trump National Doral in 2010 into the spa section. If you are not familiar with Pritikin it is an organization to control weight and improve health. Physicians of different specialties are in attendance. Cost of one week of treatment varies between $4000 and $6000. I learned that Medicare will cover medical expenses IF the person is at high risk for cardiovascular complications. It is expensive nonetheless.
The day I visited with my son it was cloudy most of the time. This place is absolutely beautiful and once in there I felt like spending the whole day visiting all I could but there are many places where visits are not allowed. To my surprise I photographed without having the intervention of one of the guards watching over this beautiful property. Trump National Doral has become a popular for parties and weddings and I could see why. I heard that ex president Trump visits periodically, that he visits the different compounds and that he has no objections talking to visitors. The golf courses are beautiful like the buildings were. I snapped a few shots for you all to see.
I am an amateur photographer that visited this beautiful place and just wanted to share my images with others. Please refrain from making political comments, this is about photography not politics.
The first image is a partial view of the main entrance. There is a large, complimentary parking lot in front of it. toward the right is the large spa and toward the left I believe are business offices.
The second shot shows part of the main building that leads to one of the golf courses.
The third image is the lobby of the main building following by a pool just outside and to the right of the main building. The last shot is a partial view of one of the golf courses.
All images made with my Olympus Pen EP-5 fit with the Zuiko 17 mm f2.8. Because the camera is small, more so with the compact lens, I do not use it in places like this with the excellent optical viewfinder VF-4 and instead I use the rear monitor. It then looks like a point and shoot camera and attracts less attention. I did not have any guards approaching me while I moved around photographing.
I know these are limited views of this place but at least they serve to give you an idea of the luxury and beauty of this location in the city of Doral.

What a beautiful property! Doral was a popular destination for my husband and his golf buddies when their local courses were buried in snow back in the 70s. Thanks for sharing.

I did not see any. As I said I used my little Pen EP-5 with the compact 17 mm lens and I used the rear monitor to focus and shoot. This way I most probably got away with it since so many tourists visit this place.
I believe, not certain about it, that if I had taken one of my dSLR cameras and a tripod I would have been stopped by one of the guards.
