Boy, some of the folks here must have found poop in their raisin bran. Who needs 'em?
Thanks for your thoughtful guidance; it is always a good time to establish goals. For me, I'd like to put Coronavirus behind us, begin again to travel, and take more pictures.

I'd like to experiment with astrophotography - and maybe even take the single astronomy course my local 2-year college offers. I can't afford to buy any more equipment for a while, though so I'd have to go with what I got. My most recent purchase was a used 70-200 G2 f/2.8. I still have about 8 months to pay it off at the rate I'm going (12-months deferred-interest financing helps...assuming I don't miss a payment!!!!!)
You either like his "shtick" or you don't. It is almost tripolar - helpful, knowledgeable and pleasant, then into a caustic mode when he doesn't like the question or diction, and the most unpleasant, his pseudo, Zen, tired business aphorisims. I like the first mode. The rest generate my responses, we can dispute viewpoints, even in this day and age.

That's a good way to put it. I always say, the proportions vary, but everyone is part angel and part a-hole....

And it depends which side of the fence one is on. Perception.

Great post, I'm right there with you!
Having studied Albert Einstein’s theory of relativity and also his theory of special relativity in depth 45 years ago, I have a lot of respect for the man. I subscribe to one of his quotes, “the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results”. Thanks Paul for your call to action.

Every journey, even one that takes years to complete, begins with the first step. Don't let a knowledge of the length, or just a fear of not reaching the end, stop you from ever even starting.
Enjoy the holidays and stay safe!
I've been very passionate about making photographs since my first photography class in 1975. That journey is continuing and I'm loving it.

I have been doing digital photography for about 25 years, and film before that. To me, it is a hobby and something I enjoy doing. I don't need lists and things as guides and reminders of what I should or want to do.
I have other hobbies and things I like to do too. I am the kind of person that enjoys learning new ideas, things to do, and places to investigate.
I feel the best teacher is experience. Just get out there and do it. Just bought a 3-D printer and am getting ready to learn how to use it.
