Fabulous! I have the same lens, but need practice for BIF. May I ask what were your settings, AFC + ?... Great shot :)

I use continuous auto focus, Zone Focusing system (center section) manual, 1/2000 sec. ISO 400 at f6.3 (wide open) I do not use rear button focus, I push half way down on the regular shutter button and get a lock on focus and then fully depress.
Good luck and keep on shooting until the end.
