Keep in mind that most of us are interested in improving our craft. Constructive criticism is how we improve--it's not "finding fault" unless it contains no suggestion for a better image. And that is always subjective. When other photogs point out things I can do better that I missed, I appreciate it; rarely do I take issue. Otherwise its all "atta boys" or nothing.

Criticism is as dependent as much on delivery, as it is on validity. Some people like to have their, to them feel good sarcastic remarks, regarding someone's work, perceived as constructive criticism. The idea is to cloak their nasty intend to ridicule in plausible denial. For example, "A" in your picture is wrong, not to speak of "B" and "C, LOL." You subsequently look at A, B, and C, and realize that the criticism is not based on any objective criteria, but just a subjective observation, sarcastically delivered, by the poster. The other side of the coin is the lack of sensitivity by someone, without bad intentions, to write constructive criticism without offensive wording. But this is more rare, and can usually be judged in the context of other posts.

I'm not talking about the politically correct nonsense of today, which makes it almost impossible not to offend someone, if you make a critical statement about anything.

About half of these comments are what keeps me from posting more. “Nice tits, nice mammaries, too skinny.” Grow up. Fock. There are nude photo sites where you can look all day and no one gives a shit about what you say. Here guys are putting their craft out there for your critique. Act like you would in a museum.

Someone said commentary should be about a photo’s merit, not about the model’s physique. Good on him.

Excellent comment.

The only place I might differ from you is that I think it is fair to comment about the model's physique in some cases; but it has to be done in a decent manner. There are some really great nude photos of women who may not be overly attractive, yet the result of pose, lighting, etc makes for a good photograph. Then there are others in which the model is totally unsuitable for the photo, and there is nothing wrong with politely saying so. And it could be physique, tattoos, piercings, etc, all coming together to either make -- or break -- the image.

"Nice tits" is definitely not the kind of comment I would expect to see in the critique of a photo in this section of UHH.

Ya, you wouldn’t expect to see “nice tits”, but you do see it. And it’s popping up more and more. It’s really too bad

Why must you always have to throw in something demeaning.

It's about photography, art, not your sick prurient interests.
