I'm a dslr guy invested in Nikon. If I had to start over I would be a Sony mirrorless guy. I love my Nikon equipment but it is becoming obsolete.

DLSR are DEAD, Sony a1 would be my first pick, Fujifilm GFX 100S would be me second choice but it's med format
for about the same price, depending on what you shoot don't count out crop sensor camera's, the Fuji X-t3 and T4 are outstanding.

You probably should dump the redundant and particularly old equipment. A D3 adds nothing of value over a D750. What else are you hiding on your "really don't need" shelf? Do the same for the lenses. Kick the unused and / or inferior overlaps to the better lenses, getting rid of the inferior.
Nikon's mirrorless cameras are fine. They're just expensive relative to Sony's pricing and not keeping up with either Sony or Canon. If you're holding onto DX equipment for the wrong reasons (there aren't any good ones), consider dumping any / all DX bodies and starting mirrorless with the Z50. When you see the mirrorless light, consider which of the full frame Z models becomes your primary camera and send your remaining DSLR to a better home. EDIT: scratch the Z50 idea. It may deliver great images, but it is not IBIS enabled. It's just a DSLR without a mirror, even with the EVF. Sad.

Here we go again with the mirrorless vs. DSLR debate, the only real advantage mirrorless has over DSLR is it's a smaller package. Camera companies will slowly eliminate the DSLR simply because mirrorless is considered newer technology...not necessarily better technology...but newer. i still prefer the look and feel of a full bodied DSLR.

If now in May 2021 you still think mirrorless cameras are just DSLRs without a mirror, you're woefully uninformed. Odd, given the wealth of UHH discussion since this thread was started in March 2019.

the mirrorless has the EVF. Cameras without mirror but also without EVF (or at least a liveview screen) are not mirrorless. Also cameras that shoot film are not mirrorless regardless whether they have a mirror or not.

Canon just updated the firmware for the 1DX MK3... and to my astonishment also the 1DX MK2. The MK2 update includes firmware for the new line of Canon tilt shift lenses, something I needed... Thank you Canon for both of those camera updates and also nice to know you can now buy a new 5D MK4 once again for those interested. There seems to be a place for both mirror-less and mirrored and the continued support from Canon is fantastic on both product lines, especially for the MK2 that I never expected. Love my MK3 for its convenience, but the Mk 2 still performs great and I can't see parting with it any time soon. I think the ultimate camera will be a hybrid of mirrored and mirror-less perhaps.

If I see another mirrorless v DSLR debate, I might go up on my roof and jump. (Some Hoggers might be happy to see that happen!)
I go on looong range fishing trips. There is always a discussion, with the same guys, every year, of which fishing knot is the best. It can take an hour or two. Last time this started, I jumped overboard, but the boat came back for me and the Great Whites did not get me. Too bad, because when they pulled me aboard, they were still talking about the uni knot vs. the San Diego jamb knot. I tried to jump overboard again, but was stopped. Its kinda like that.
