I can't find the pictures to download to my 7 pc.
I connect the cable from phone to pc.
Just like I do with a card reader.
I go to computer and do not see a connection to phone pictures.

And I have taken pictures of very important documents.

Is it really this difficult?

How do you download your photos?

Hi, I'll lell you how I do it and maybe it'll shed light on your issue.
I installed the app "Photo Transfer" on my cell phone (Andoid) and on my desktop PC (OS: Windows 10).i open the app on my pbone and follow the instructions.
Note: the transfer format is usually "jpg".

My Win7 recognizes my phone and I can download directly after a
search to where on the phone they reside. You can also direct pix
to the phone mini USB and transfer to PC with a card reader.

I also email my self phone pix, but usually use a real camera.

Sandisk makes a memory card device. Plug one end into your Iphone and download all your pics to it.
Remove and plug the other end (USB) into your computer and load them into your Photo app. Simple

I don't have my PC (still running XP) at my current location, but I would go into Windows Explorer to see if there are any devices listed other than the C drive.

It may not be listed obviously like "Android device" or "phone". It might show up just as "external drive" or something like that.

If there is a new device listed there, I would just select it and expect to see the content of my phone.

Might be your "pictures" or gallery. When you connect to the pc, look for these folders within the phone's memory as shown on the pc file manager. You should be able to click on them and either save them or use as attachments to an email.

On an Android device it's not as difficult as you are making it. If you connect the device to a PC the screen needs to be unlocked, and you open it up (mount) as a disk. By default all pictures taken with the camera are in the DCIM folder.

Interesting.
My Windows 7 computers can see ALL of the folders on my Android phone, therefore all images (which are JPEGs) also. I just transfer, either way, using Windows File Explorer. Windows did have to download a driver on the initial connection though.

Cell phone cameras are real cameras.

Well, that's simple.
Thank you all.
Instead of downloading all those apps etc.
I just took the cable from the charger and connect from phone to computer and got it at DCIM file. Just like the card from camera.

That was interesting. I had over 200 pictures on my phone.

I looked at different videos and instructions on line and it was mass confusions.

Well, I'm all set. Just more things to learn.

And I copy images from my computer to certain folders i have set up on the phone to have them available to view on the phone.

The 'Gallery' app on my Android phone allows me to create folders and organize the images on the phone.
