After almost 2 years of no travel, finally got a chance to get somewhere to take some photos. A little later than we would have liked for colors, but still managed to get a few that are decent...and yes, one of them I messed with the sky and just saw when I exported it that it's weird and not very well done...please don't think too harshly of me until I can fix it...

Only took the R6 and the 24-105 f4 L, so was also good practice trip with minimal gear.

It was a road trip, and had to take what I could get for light & weather...but at least it was late in the year & cold enough I was able to get these without any people in them...

My state... Good work. Thanks for not being too obnoxious with the cliché "silky waterfall effect". We have a lot of great waterfalls in NC.

Thanks. We were trying to cover a lot of ground in 4-5 days, so only got to those that were easily accessible with short hikes. I was pretty happy with what I got at the upper Pearson Falls (that's the one I monkeyed with the sky and screwed up...need to fix it before I print it).

And the one straight on at Looking Glass. Water flow was low enough that I could get out and use the rocks at the lower end of the pool as a foreground.

Even though the waterfalls are the "primary" focus, in pretty much all of them I was trying to get the detail in the rocks as well. Had never been to the Carolinas.

Lived in Colorado & NM for about 15 years, so it was a pleasant change of what "mountains" are.

Yes, mountains in the East are rolling hills compared to those in the West. The lush green (or multi-colored Fall) foliage is a huge change, too. I took a business trip to Keystone, CO, in the summer of 1993. That was a "wow" of a different kind!

Being a somewhat hybridizer of rhododendrons I really liked seeing the Rhododendron Maximum in #3. It's nice to see the plants where they are at home in such a beautiful setting.
