I don't think either Roger Daltrey or Pete Townshend are very concerned about being PC...

As you can see in the picture, my lens is old and disty, I guess I can clean it with some Hydroxychloroquine, a touch of Ivermectin, or maybe I'll just soak it in bleach!

To prevent any further infection, I'll coat it with Super Corona Dope

Chek, it out I have some on my workbench!

Just so we won't get ejected from this section for posting "political" stuff, attached is a quick shot of our CHINA closet. The teapot has been in my wife's family for 90 years.

Well- it's the only CHINA we have- all the rest is earthenware.

Thank God it's not RED china ❤️☹️❤️☹️❤️

When they announced the latest Covid-19 variant, I thought the name sounded familiar. Turns out, it is the name of one of the lenses from my long-gone Chromaga enlarger. It is a nice flat field lens made in Japan for the old Simons-Omega company, the makers of the Omega line of enlargers.

Nowadays, I use it for a magnifying loupe to look at old negatives. I have also used it with a bellows for a makeshift macro lens.

If Simmons was still in business, could they sue the CDC for using their name? Well it was made in Japan- not China

Let's hope they don't name the next variety Nikor!
When they announced the latest Covid-19 variant, I... (show quote)

That brought back memories....
My dad had an OMEGA D3 Enlarger in his darkroom way back in the 50's
We had a lot of fun together.

Ed do you know that our company has corona treaters? They are no good for the pandemic and have nothing to do with the coronavirus.

The RED cast is because the only available light that day was for the Tiffany-style lamp over the dining room table. It has some red stained glass.

My lovely wife has taken over for my grandmother who used to say, "did you wash your hands before coming to the table and stop fiddling with that camera and sit down and eat properly"!

I wonder if they'll skip 'Omega' because of all of the old enlargers out there.

I suppose Covid-19 is a legitimate conversation on a photo forum. After all, the pandemic and all the lockdowns, restrictions, protests, and chaos, affected the photography business and the hobby as well.

Business-wise, in the commercial field, I am thankful for the industrial work I was able to do for the construction industry. And...all my foodservice customers needed online images for home delivery and curbside pickup. Weddings, events and portraits- NADA! Without those old clients, sure I would have had to close shop! If it sounds like I was profiteering on misfortune- well for my small food service folks, I traded work for Pizza, burgers, and Schwarma which nearly killed me because I am not supposed to eat salt and food high in Potassium- no cheeses! MSG is poison for me! A little poem I recite before eating contraband foods!

My photographic friends in the press corps were kept busy with all the political shenanigans, riots, protests, chaos, death and destruction that came along with the pandemic.

Many photo-enthusiasts became reclusive and had to figure out things to do while sheltering in place. Many shot still life images of anything they could find around the house, many sat online and ordered tons of gear, tested all the lenses for obscure aberrations and decided to trade up to more expensive stuff! A few, although never shot wildlife before, order a long lens that wants long enough and were never seen again- probably eaten by an ornery bear who didn't want to pose. Come to think of it, many of us do all of that without a pendemic.

We are so busy blaming the Chinese that perhaps we forget about our "friends" the Russians. They used to boast of a laboratory in Russia that harboured every dangerous pathogen on Earth! They claim it was for medical research! I know this is an outmoded term some of us old guys remember the media bandying about words like "Germ Warfare"! I guess the Chinese and the "good guys" might have that kida of things too. Why not? It more logical than some of the other conspiracy theories? Oh, I'm Jewish, I better turn off my cat laser before it burns a hole in my neighbour's tree!

Hey y'all, remember Chernobyl? See what happens when big boys play with dangerous toys. There was one rumour that the opposing "Neucualr Powers" were experimenting (playing chicken) with propagating an unstoppable chain reaction and were on the cusp of doing so. I am not talking about laundry detergent or fabric softer with unstoppable scents. Hey, what's a little excessive radiation compared to a deadly virus. Think about it, if we all get necked, all the germs will die in the process! Mask up and get out your lead BVDs! When we al all glowing in the dark, we won't need to use flash!

Please excuse my sick sense io humour it is certainly not PC. Anyway, I'm an old man with a gray beard so to me, PC is a synchronization contact on a European-made shutter that the Japanese adopted. I guess the old U.S. "bayonet" was too warlike and mean!
