I have the Sirui A1005 tripod. I recently bought a Acratech ball head that i really like, However not happy with my Sirui and would like to purchase a carbon fibre tripod. and sell the sirui with its original ball head. I like gene's advice on tripods like the Feisol.
Here is what I am using.. I like to do wildlife but like other genres.
Thank you

I shoot with two women who have you combination, we walk the wetlands almost everyday for about 2 hours. That rig is so light neither of the two 82 and 85 year old WOMEN have any difficulty hand holding their equipment. Why on earth would anyone put this rig on a tripod for anything other than to monitor a nest or bird feeder.

Not true. B&H, Amazon, Adorama, and others have them and you can always order directly from Feisol.
I finally went to a store where they had a lots of tripod standing......height, weight, how many columns when you pull out the legs.....I need a tripod for at home one for travel and one in the car.....lol.....
In own a lot of tripods. Got them buying on line. Final went to a store with my equipment and tried them with my camera and lens and found one the I am comfortable with.

Should I get three section or four? Can you suggest one In $300 price range
I have the R5 and the 100-500. Two recommendations: Use the Peak Design Strap with their standard plate attached to the tripod sockets on both the lens and camera. This balances the weight. I am 83 years old and do a lot of bird photography. I do not use a tripod as I want to follow birds in flight. I set the R5 to 20fps, shutter speed at 1/4000, ISO at 800 and f.8 usually works. I have carried this set up for several hours with no discomfort.
Tripod: I highly recommend the Peak Design Carbon Tripod. I usually use it for night or long exposure photography. It is very compact, easily fits into a 21" Roll-a-board. Opens and closes quickly and is very steady when the R5 with the 100-500 is attached.
You can buy it direct from Peak Design or from B&H and Amazon.
You won't go wrong with the above items from Peak Design.
