Duck Hunting Today

I heard that there's a Mandarin Duck in Pennypack Creek but I couldn’t find it on Thursday. Then I received better information that is was seen at the Environmental Center. There was one male Mandarin Duck with a female Wood Duck. There were many photographers there today (12/4/21). I could have stayed all day just watching them.

The female does appear to be a female woodie rather than a female mandarin which looks very similar. The female mandarin would have a light tip to the bill and a white stripe extending back from the white surrounding the eye.
Therefore that female woodie is a trollop as she is obviously engaged in a mating ritual with the Mandarin.
During my research I discovered there are white Mandarin ducks. Who knew?
