The Epson XP-970 is great for printing up to 11”X17”. I do both color and bw and delighted with the great quality of my prints. Have always used Epson and never disappointed! Try using Red River photo paper especially the metallic gloss it will give your prints an awesome look.

I have used a lot of printers in my time.
Out of all of them, I have had the best experiences using Canon printers.
They have been the stingiest with ink, reliable and trouble free. Also make nice looking prints.

As you can see, Soul Dr. wrote this but I could have. I agree 100%! Harry PS Tried Epsons first, didn't like them, don't remember why, it was years ago and I'm 90 with not too much memory left. <g> But I love my Canon Pro 100! Of course, I'm an amateur, never sold a print in my life; gave a few away though with no complaints. :-) Harry
I have used inexpensive 8.5"x11" HP deskjet-type printers for years and appreciated their reliability and quality of printing. The last one I replaced, this summer, had been used for more than 11 years. But they did not work well on bending thicker photo paper around their rubber rollers. Using online photo finishers has worked well when I needed a quality print.
However, my replacement printer this summer is an HP ENVY 6455e Wireless Color All-in-One Printer, and I have printed several dozens of photos on it already with great success. The printer cost me $160. For not quite $100 more, one could purchase an HP printer which uses all pigment inks.
My point, Mark, is not that you need to buy an HP printer, but that you need to do the research on each manufacturers' website to see what models meet your requirements. All of us will be biased by the printers we have used.
Enjoy your photos and seeing others enjoy them, too. --Richard
I have a Canon Pixma Pro 10. it uses pigment ink, will print on sheets up to 13"x19" and you can feed paper up to 14" through the manual feed. To be able to properly use art paper you must download additional software from Canon. It is priced at $700. but can usually be found at about 50% off.
