The two old tractors look like the one my father had when I was young. Dad used the big pully on the side of the tractor to run some of his equipment with a FLAT BELT drive. I don't recall him ever using it for anything else. He would start it once a year or so and drive it to the silo or wherever it was needed. Then hook it up with the wide flat belt.
That would have been from about 1946 to 1958.

An intertesting attachment to a wall at the Villa in Sienna, IT. Possibly used to hitch horse to.

Thanks for this really cool challenge, Lesley. I have really enjoyed seeing all the fabulous rustalicious photos. I wish I was able to comment on each one but, alas I just don’t have the time. (Time is what’s holding me back from volunteering to host as well.)

Thanks much. There are several more in that sidewalk display - all equally fun.

My visit to the SS Great Britain (2010), now back in the original dry dock where she was built, 1839-1843.

" SS Great Britain is a museum ship and former passenger steamship, which was advanced for her time. She was the longest passenger ship in the world from 1845 to 1854. She was designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel (1806–1859), for the Great Western Steamship Company's transatlantic service between Bristol and New York City. While other ships had been built of iron or equipped with a screw propeller, Great Britain was the first to combine these features in a large ocean-going ship. She was the first iron steamer to cross the Atlantic Ocean, which she did in 1845, in the time of 14 days."
