Sunset in the States

I took these a couple days ago back by the woods, there isn't any photo editing with them. Please let me know what you think.

They're both nice shots, but I like the 2nd one. The light on some of the brush or trees in the foreground gives it depth.

I like the 2nd photo....think I would have cropped out most of the black foreground to just below the solar flare.

It's the "recommendation of Thirds" (AKA Rule of Thirds) - a horizon line usually looks more pleasing if you put it a third from the bottom, or a third from the top - I agree - a little more sky (Or less ground, if this is the full original) and this would be super.
