I was watching a craftsman on YouTube, and he said he was making something for his father, who was 73. I quickly thought to myself, "That's pretty old." Then I remembered that I'm 77.
Age is relative, and most of my relatives are younger than I am.

It can be a shock as I found out when I realised I was the same age as old people

I have a son who is "junior", he has a son who is "third" and he has a son who is "fourth". I never have used "senior" for anything, because I'm never going to be old!!! I'm only 94 now; maybe I'll be old when I get to 127.

Right, and I don't especially like being in a group that's all old people.
Old people are at least ten years older than me. This does not change after each birthday.
A cartoon I once saw seems to sum it up best for me: A clearly advanced-age senior is shouting, "Help! I'm a 35-year-old trapped in this 73-year-old body!" My 75-year-old sister may have also hit the mark commenting about her health, "Jeez; I never knew so many things could hurt!"

Went to a High School reunion a few years ago and was amazed at how old all my classmates have gotten.
I keep denying that I’m 74 by telling people I’m 73…

So, true! People’s appearances do age at vastly different rates. I have classmates that appear to be what I picture as 90 or more, and some who look like their still in their fifties.

When you’re a couple shy of 80 and 90% of the obits are younger than you are. Or there were four generations at out house for TG.
Jerry, this made me realize something. I am a few years older than you and as an "old guy" I also recognize that I am most likely about the oldest of my living relatives. Isn't that a comfort!!!

I was with in ten years of retirement when a lot of the younger drivers started calling me Pap or Pappy. I was surprised until I realized many of them were half my age. It never really occurred to me that I might be a Pappy to some of my co workers. Not sure what they would call me now that I'm retired. LOL
