https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zw9R9R7C0FII decided to take a trip through the peel of the mandarine orange I ate with breakfast. I carefully prepared slides of the outer and inner surfaces of the peel. The outside surface was pretty straight forward. The regular cells were immediately visible under the microscope. The insode of the peel is line with soft fibers which I had to shave off. Looking at the peel itself, I found out that the patterning was visible at low power, even using the digital microscope. The higher magnification. The high power reveled mostly irregularities, themselves interesting.
The scientist in you, has spoken! With a little more preparation and magnifications, you could probably have seen the strands of DNA. If we only could take the time to study life around us, we will find that from the lowly yeast, to the perfect human, we are all connected.
Keep it up!
