Once upon a time, at a meeting in Texas, I watched a Senior Executive and a young manager try to "out hot" each other at a restaurant. Pure macho / masochism. I touched one of the type of pepper they were eating to my tongue, and that was enough. Can't recall who won, but nobody died. I like spicy as much as most, and can tolerate pain, but don't care to combine the two.

I like Marie Sharp's Habanero sauce from Belize. It is orange colored. They also have a green colored sauce that is even hotter. Goes good with anything.

There's a place in Cary, North Carolina called "Danny's BBQ." They have a wall of hot sauces, donated by customers. If you bring a bottle they don't already have, you'll win a free sandwich. I don't get to Cary any more, but I'd grab a photo of their hot sauce wall if I did!

Yeah, the same reason I didn't taste test Mad Dog 357 No. 9 Plutonium! You will have to go to UHH food site, "The Eye and Lens of a Foodie or Calling all Foodies" and read the article to find out why!!

This past September I did taste the 357 Magnum hot sauce at the dinner table of friends who own a ranch in Wyoming. I had tried a couple of other hot sauces on the Mexican food we were having but then my friend brought out a bottle of his 357 Magnum hot sauce. I started to pour it/sprinkle it on my food when he told me to stop and try a sample first. I put a few drops on a spoon and tried it. I can stand and actually like some pretty hot sauces. This was an absolute NO-NO for me. Anybody remember the old cartoons where a character eats something hot and there is steam coming from his ears, the top of his head blows off and settles back down. YUP, that was me.

We are going to buy some for my stepson this Christmas. He loves hotter than hot sauces. I am good with some pretty hot chalupa type sauces and maybe a bit hotter. Never again the 357 Magnum level of hot.

Great photo of the line up of the sauces.

Dennis

Dennis, check out the tasting over at UHH "The Eye and Lens of a Foodie or Calling all Foodies"

Yeah, a coupla' my son's like da' REAL Hot stuff, and that's fine. A fine sport for some - not me! I like FLAVOR over pure heat.

Thanks for your "from experience" comment, dennis2146!!
