I decided to try out the Canon R6 and Canon 400mm F5.6 on a couple of my favorite subjects. Andromeda Galaxy, aka M31 and The Double Cluster, aka NGC884.

That’s incredible! This looks like another confirmation the R6 will be by next camera.

I was hoping to give someone an example of high ISO capability of the R6. I wanted a full frame camera that performed better than a 5Dmkiii or mk4 for astrophotography without needing to set up a telescope everytime and I would recommend this camera for most low light situations. I also found this old lens to work pretty well.

Thank You Joe, astrophotography is much more tedious, which is why I like the challenge. Compared to some other photographers images, these are quite mediocre.

You are correct. The Andromeda Galaxy is approximately 2.5 million light years away which is a distance nobody on planet earth will ever attain...IMHO. 🥸🥸🥸

Thank you. More of an example of how technology has evolved. You couldn't do this with film, at least with these settings.
