There has been at least one Kingfisher at the Willows park but it's been elusive to my camera - a few blurry shots through the trees and in flight. Today I was determined to find it and I did. It's a female Belted Kingfisher and while it always flew to trees across the pond, no matter which side I went to, it stayed in one tree long enough for me to get a few shots.
Thank you, Marg. That area seems to be her home - I've only seen her and no other Kingfisher there.
Hopefully she has or will have a fella, too. We had a pair at our cottage and I rarely saw them together. When they did appear at the same time they were accompanied by an almost absurd amount of chatter.

Elliott,
I know your rightfully thrilled to finally get these shots of this beautiful bird. Congrats!
For me, the last image is the best: sharp, great catch light in the bird's eye, crest up, bill open and tail erect as if on alert. It doesn't get much better than this.
