I've got a Like New (965 Shutter count) Nikon D850 with Nikon lens Ive been trying to sell. I keep getting scammer type request on Facebook and Craigs list. Im wondering if anyone in this forum knows the best way to sell to someone at a distance that guarantees I wont be scammed? Thanks

Sell it on this site. With initial posting be sure to include:
How to contact you: response to post vs. private message.
Price being asked.
A series of high-quality photos to justify your detailed description of condition and extras included.

Your concerns are justified.
I use this site to sell, I also use Photography on the Net. I have used Ebay and I try to pack well as you get reviewed.
I use only cash and pay pal.
I look closely at pictures.
I look at people's reviews.
And then I hope until the deal is over that I have done enough.

The Post Office can help you, believe it or not, by shipping items where an accepting signature is required for delivery. You would want to insure the package for an amount of at least 20% above actual value to mitigate the P.O. from just delivering the pkg. to the front porch.

Above $500 insured the PO will require a signature

Yes to most.
Ready to sell? yes
Price? Yes
Payment form? Not until I know a way they cannot scam me to get a refund if they claim they never got the merchandise.
Shipping cost? No they will pay that
Clear images? Yes

Why not ship it with a signature required, It is pretty hard to deny that it wasn't received when someone signed for it..... and by all means ship the package insured.

Unless you are going to sell to B&H, KEH, MPB or Roberts, why don't you list it here. I generally feel very safe buying from fellow Hoggers and would not hesitate to offer a camera for sale here as well. Good luck.

YES, all the shipping companies have a change of address service. Tell the buyer you want a Postal money order (or 2 or 3 upfront) for the purchase AND shipping. CASH the money order at the PO so you have the $$ and then ship it out INSURED! COD delivery is also a possibility so they pay the delivery co before the item is handed over.

Excellent advice. Well hopefully the gentleman who just purchased my D850 here in this forum has integrity and all goes well. Im still trying to get my head around this kind of behavior. I always see the best in people so it kinda blows my mind scams happen what appears to be routinely.
