Has anyone ever been able find a Tripod/Monopod mount for the Canon 70-300 4-5.6 IS USM
I thought I remember seeing one time some who found a type of mount for this lens.
Any help on this in advance is appreciated.

Check out Leofoto.
I bought one a long time ago when I got the lens, it is a "Canon Tripod Mount Ring C(WII).
I'm sure that should you Google that you could find one.
Thank you for posting that. I have AF LD 200-400mm which weighs a ton. Hi had been looking for a ring mount but I couldn't find one big enough. What I saw on ebay is exactly what I need. thanks again.

Canon makes a tripod mounting ring for the "L" version, but not for the others. The one for the L is "Tripod Ring C". It also fits the 28-300mm "L". It DOES NOT fit the other EF 70-300mm lenses.
The "non-L" 70-300 lenses aren't even designed to accommodate a tripod mounting ring, but they're all light enough that they really shouldn't need one.
There have been four different Canon EF 70-300s.
1. "DO" or "diffractive optics" version (2004, smaller but not any lighter)
2. Original "non L" version (2005, standard optics)
3. "L" version (2009, added weather sealing, more robust build, larger/heavier)
4. "II" version (2016 update of the "original", improved image quality, AF & IS)
All four have IS and USM. Three are f/4-5.6 lenses. The "DO" is f/4.5-5.6.
If you have the "L" and want a tripod ring for it, the OEM Canon Ring C is rather pricey at about $170. There are considerably cheaper third party "clones" available. Be careful with those, though. Be sure to get a metal one. Some of the cheapest clones are plastic and won't hold up to regular use. I don't know how well the metal clones fit and work on the lens... maybe they are equal to the Canon OEM... maybe not. For a couple lenses where I had to buy tripod rings separately I was able to find used Canon OEM rings for significant savings (but none were were the Ring C... I don't have either of the lenses that use it).
I purchased a metal one from Amazon, Maxmartt 81mm Tripod Collar Mount Ring C(WII) for EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6L is USM , fits very good........FREE RETURNS.......

I have the 70-300L and got a metal tripod collar from a Walmart Vender.

Thank you for the reply. But the one that I need is for a Tamron 200-400mm with a 77mm lense.
