Out of Sync With Nature

Here are a few photos of a geranium and a Christmas cactus that aren't in sync with the calendar. The geranium spent two summers ago blooming on our back deck and was brought in for the winter where it bloomed some more. Then it went out on the deck this past summer where it flowered some more until it got water logged by the rainiest summer I can remember. We just brought it inside last week and it's already started to bloom again.

The Christmas cactus is just so excited that it couldn't wait for Christmas, I guess.

Good and cheerful set as things shut down. Must be something in the air, I bought a Bouquet of Fall Flowers today!

Beautiful pictures. My Christmas cactus has only the one flower and I see no buds. So far.

I buy bouquets during the colder months so I have something to photograph. I tell my wife they're for her, but she finally caught on that I buy them for me!

Thanks, Mike. We have two Christmas cacti. The red one blooms closer to Christmas, but the hot pink one is always early.

Actually, they are so nice to have in the cold months, they are for both of you / us, photographed or not. (Though they usually are photographed!)

Thanks, NMGal. Our dinette area has two glass walls and the roof is about half skylights, so just about everything grows and blooms there.

There are actually 3 types of 'Christmas cactus' 1 blooms at Easter, 1 around Thanksgiving and 1 ard Christmas. The leaves are slightly different in shape
