This is an excellent lens - rumored to be a "L" quality glass for an APC ("crop sensor") camera.

Back in the day, I've shot the 17-40L and the 10-22 concurrently. They are essentially the same lens in terms of image quality, both excellent.

I do own the 17-40L and totally agree, therefore am selling the 10-22
