Since vaccinated people are much less likely to catch covid than unvaccinated people, and studies are starting to show that vaccinated people with breakthrough infections are less likely to infect others than the unvaccinated who are infected, it is fair to say that those who are unvaccinated are infecting far more people than those who are vaccinated.

Vaccinated people are NOT less likely to catch Covid than the unvaccinated lol, that's just silly.

Actually that data show that it is true.
Less likely to become infected than the unvaccinated.
Also
If infected, shorter duration, less contagious, less severe illness, less likely to die.
Assuming immunity is maintained by getting booster(s) as needed.
Same thing likely applies to "natural" (meaning post-infection) immunity, including need for boosters.

Several studies indicate the opposite. For example:
"REACT study shows fully vaccinated are three times less likely to be infected"

No data shows that vaccinated people are less likely to catch Covid than the unvaccinated, thats just pure nonsense not supported by facts.

You must not have done much research. Merely Googling "likelihood of breakthrough infection" got this from Johns Hopkins:

A study in Washington state gathered data from over 4 million fully vaccinated people. The data showed a rate of about 1 in 5,000 experienced a breakthrough infection between January 17 and August 21, 2021. More recently, some populations have shown breakthrough infection rates of approximately 1 in 100 fully vaccinated people.

Vaccines do NOT protect anyone from catching the virus, it ONLY protects you from experiencing a catastrophic illness from the virus.

Makes sense and I agree with that, I know you weren't posting that for me. My point is that the vaccines don't protect anyone from contracting the virus.

Infected means the virus has invaded, is being reproduced, person develops positive PCR test for Covid, may or may not have symptoms, subsequently most - but not all - will develop antibodies against Covid

Well then here's another:

But really I'm sure you are capable of searching for reputable sources should you desire more proof.

In which case you are incorrect. See my other posts which include references indicating that the vaccinated are at lower risk of becoming infected than are the unvaccinated.

Yes it can happen. Depends in part on how long ago you completed vaccination. Depending on your age and medical condition, immunity is much lower after 6 months.

It is also true that breakthrough infections in the vaccinated tend to be less severe, shorter in duration, shorter period of being contagious, and less life threatening.

There is no truth to what you've said, only speculation as with anything covid related.
