My three Canons have that option. It has never worked.

On my Sony it works fine.

Really? I have 6 Canons (2 DSLRs and 4 Powershots), and the DST setting works on all. What am I doing wrong? 🥴🤔😎

I don't own an actual watch and don't carry a phone. The only time I go somewhere that the time is not readily available is when I'm out shooting. The camera is my timepiece.

Never change it, not important.

As long as the date is accurate on my pics, because that is how I do a quick search and sort after a Nikon holiday.

On my Nikons, the option controls whether you're on DST or not. It does not change automatically. When DST starts you have to set it on. When DST ends you have to set if off. Just a bit easier than actually changing the hour.

Accurate time is not always required for casual shots, but it can be helpful.

Went to a wedding last spring. The pro sent some photos. There were two shooters and not only were their cameras not synchronized, they weren't set to the right time. Trying to arrange the photos chronologically was a real chore. Both shooters had multiple bodies.

Thanks for the reminder. I have 4 cameras to address, dang! What's even worse, this weekend I will be photographing at an evening concert in a different time zone. I don't care for UTC.

Sad they were not synchronized.
Actual time is irrelevant just relevant.

I am oversea since a couple of months. I did not bother changing the time at all, so… Time change? AH!

My bigger problem is forgetting to change for time zones across Europe. Only really matters if my wife has remembered to change on her camera – makes it hard to put all the images together.

That still doesn't answer the question of why I should set the time back on my camera.
