Raining, 43 f, wind from the South, heralding the rain storm we are promised-11-3,4-2021. Rain messed with my autofocus.
#1. Eagle chasing little birds towards other eagles.
#2. Young Eagle Orbiting, looking for food.
#3. Young Eagle dives on ducks-unsuccessful attack.
#4. Ruby-crowned Kinglet-crown not visible.
#5. Ruby-crowned Kinglet Launches.
#1,2,3,4,5 -D500, 500pF, 1/4000, f 8, ISO 100 to 5000, no EC or CPL-handheld, Cropping and pp did occur. Not my best work but demonstrative of the interesting behaviors.
#6. GBH looks away from ducks.
#7. GBH with ducks.
#8. Cormorant Up High-unusual especially when Eagles are all over in hunting mode.
#6,7,8- D850, 300pF, 1/3200, f 5, ISO 100 to 1200, no EC or CPL- One-handed held. Some cropping and pp occurred.
Crappy rain and wind messed up many shots-oh well. My arthritic left shoulder decided to act up-painfully. It got so bad that I could not lift the D500 with 500pF attached. Had to shoot one-handed with the D850, 300pF attached using a taught strap to help stabilize things. Miserable with the rain and wind and pain :-( I know, why was I out in the rain in the first place. Must take advantage of opportunities when presented.

Thanx! This time of year we must take what we can get. The pain prevented some better work. I think.

Nice shots, but I really like #5. Great capture of the bird just as it launched!

Thanx! It was challenging to get good clear shots in the rain. The AF was unhappy as was my left arm.
Great set especially under the circumstances. Love your eagle shots. Mahalo for sharing.
