While in Paris, my goal was to shoot the Eiffel Tower during the day as well as the blue hour. Timing and location were a challenge but for the most part, I was pleased with the results. Tried to get some different angles. Always experimenting, always learning.

Thanks for the memories.
You did a great job capturing the light show.
We stayed in the nearby Pullman Hotel and I tried my best to exceed my 6D's estimated shutter count, grin.
I tried (almost) EVERY SS/F-Stop combo that I could think of.
And I'm glad that I did.
Police?? Well, the number of folks with DSLRS, Compact Cameras, and phones ALL pointed at the tower at ANY time (day/night) was amazing.
We even saw wedding parties being photographed using the Eiffel Tower as a backdrop.
Have lunch in the Eiffel Tower and you will never be the same.
Thanks, you made me . . .

Hi Rob. Really nice set. You might enjoy some similar approaches used when I visited Tokyo and shot some of the original Tokyo tower. The weather was not as cooperative as desired, but you can see that we had similar views. By the way, you will see both the “new” and original Tokyo tower. The one that resembles the Eiffel Tower is the original one. Best. JimR.

Very similar views and close to the same time of day. Nice shots. I was in Tokyo many years ago but at the time I was shooting video tape. Really prefer shooting DSLR. This was our longest vacation of 30 days visiting 3 countries, 4 islands and a transatlantic cruise back to the US. Great trip and photo opps everywhere. Thanks for checking them out.

Thanks for the memories. br You did a great job ca... (show quote)

Thanks and glad you liked them. If I remember I used a low ISO and my exposure was around 25-30 seconds. The lens was a Nikon 24-70, 2.8. Trying to get shots without anyone in them was certainly a challenge. Never saw police monitoring anyone with a camera. We originally planned to have lunch in Jules Verne but we ran out of time. The view from the top was fantastic. Thanks for checking them out!

Beautiful set! Surprised you were able to get the night shots. I thought Paris Police were actively discouraging night shots due to a copyright issue.

Yes, the lighting is copyrighted. Ridiculous!
