Sorry not to have given such a thorough explanation as our Canadian friend, Mr. Shapiro.

This guy can't stay on topic or speak succinctly. He is a waste of time.

Life's a bitch--ain't it though?
Interesting comments and of course, people are prejudice with their brand of camera. Can't believe someone would think of wedding photos not being good if not shot with Canon. How silly is that? There are probably a million weddings shot in last 10-20 years with Nikon and people have been extremely happy and probably same with Canon or Sony. I am for skill, experience and certainly the camera lens quality can factor in but don't think people should knock the other brand.
It is amazing that this thread went over 7 pages. While I haven't been in the photography business, I owned a restaurant for over 30 years. It was evident after the first couple of minutes of the video that this client wasn't worth having. I do not know if he got the job in the end or not but if he get the job, it is unlikely that he would have pleased the man in the end. There is a strong possibility that he was showing off to his fiance. I might also note that until they actually contracted for the photographer's services, they were not customers.
This post is really about when to walk away, even if you are desperate for the business. It is a matter of risk reward ratio. If you take on a customer that you know will not be happy no matter the out come, is it going to be worth whatever you make, or that it might really be costly in the end?

I was not sure at the time. My spell check didn't correct the spelling or even give options. Dumbass computer.

I believe he was attempting to make a different point, not just simply answer my inquiry.
SKILL -- with any camera, even a mirrorless -- is what makes a great photo. (And perhaps a little help from Photoshop.)
What’s the point of our photography? Everything seems absurd until someone admires our equipment.

How 'bout SATISFACTION being the point? I want viewers to like my photography, not the name on my camera strap.
If you don't love your camera, who will love your photography?

I agree, people shouldn't knock other brands. But many people do because they are shallow and they feel their choices and decisions are good ones and others who don't choose as they did are wrong.
Although I was never a full time professional photographer, I've been doing photography since the 1960's and I've shot with many brands. I've done numerous paid jobs over the years and have been 1st and 2nd shooter at many events, including weddings. I've shot primarily with Canon and I own more Canon gear than other makes, but I do, apparently unlike many UHH members, currently own Canon, Nikon, Panasonic and Sony digital cameras. I personally feel that makes me maybe a little more experienced with a few of the different camera makes than some of the responders. I've shot Canon along with others who were shooting Nikon and I've shot Nikon along with others shooting Canon and I don't recall anyone ever telling me their brand was better than mine. Apparently real photographers in the real world don't really care much about what the other guy is shooting, only the end results.
