I just bought an Epson R3000 printer not delivered yet. Was wondering if any Hoggs have experience with this printer and your thoughts.
That printer has been discontinued and replaced by the Epson P700 as their 13" pigment ink printer. If you got a good price, it will be a great print producer.
I know that but Thanks. Just wanted someone’s experience using this printer.
Although I didn't have one, it was a favorite workhorse for many producing gorgeous prints. Based on only on internet stories, it needed regular exercise to keep the pigment inks from clogging. You should do well with it.

Have one and have had no problems. Makes beautiful prints. Have made prints from 4x6 to 13x19.

I have had that printer for several years - since it was new on the market. It served me well but it began to have problems in the last couple of years. I had to get it serviced professionally once while it was still under additional warranty. Now it won't pull the paper into the machine - I guess it's a roller problem. But having said all that, it has served me well.
I have the Epson R2400 which is older than yours. Yes, the rollers can be cleaned with a microfiber cloth dampened with 90% or higher alcohol. When using thinner papers, I add a little downward pressure at the initial movement and that often also helps. It seems that the first curved movement of the paper is where the problem lies.
Good luck!

I have had an Epson R3000 for about seven years or so, and it has been a great printer, I usually print 13x19 and have made hundreds of prints on it. It clogged up once from sitting too long, 6 months. but I Googled about cleaning
it and it worked fine after. Don't hesitate buying one if in working condition. The results you get from it out weighs the high cost of ink. (as with all printers, except the bottle fed ones)
If you are planning to use nothing but Epson ink, you're probably fine. Use a third party ink and Epson will disable your printer until you go back to using their ink.
The high c I st of ink is a killer. Most expensive liquid on earth
I have used mine for many years and love it. Just finished a 44x13" print and preparing to do another. Highest quality printing is slow. I calibrate to match my monitor and a photometer standard, print using the generated paper profile from PS or LR.

Replaced the R3000 several months ago. In use for 6-7 yrs, nice o/p. Had to repl the print head few yrs ago, and finally gave up earlier this yr. Repair more than printer value. Purchased the R-700, even better, but ink cost is outrageous.
Aren't we all bummed about the ink costs. I have to say I have been using third-party inks on my Canon Pro 100 and they do real well. I just can't let it sit too long. All these printers have to be 'exercised' regularly; like once a week at least. Good luck.
I always used 3rd party inks; regular use is the key, I would usually print something on Monday and Thursday or Froday. Worked for me! Harry
