Is White Background a Good Selection for a Downy Woodpecker?

When lining up this shot of a immature Downy Woodpecker, I had to decide if it was better to move my camera so the background was green foliage to add context to the subject or would it be better to move once again to have a darker, blurred background to avoid distractions from the subject. What say ye?

In my opinion, the white background is very harsh on my eyes. I would much prefer a green leafed background. You could blur the leaves to emphasis focus on the bird.

I would go with the green, blurry background.

I don't like the white BG. I think that there is too much white. Green would be easier on the eyes.
