I accidentally hit the speaker icon on my Roku remote. A voice is reading everything it sees on the screen. How can I shut this up?

Go to settings in the main menu, then Audio, select menu volume, then select off. Had that happen to me too. Was a pain to find the cure

Maybe, but I'd try Settings/Accessibility/Audio Guide/Off

That would probably work better ðŸ¤
Thanks. I'll try it tonight.
Maybe it's just trying to tell you something, Jerry. Lol.
On my remote, I have an *, which is different from "Settings" on the screen. From there, I went to Accessibility, and I was able to turn it off. What a nuisance that is! It sounds like a drunk woman mumbling.

Maybe, but I couldn't understand a word it was mumbling.

Yep! It's a small remote with small buttons. The microphone button is right above Play/Pause, so I tend to hit that by accident. Usually, I can eliminate the mic function right away. Now I know. : )
